Not a single dad anymore

Been a while since I wrote anything. I'll try to do better. I'm married now! Much better!

So we have a new president. So far I haven't agreed with a single step he has taken. Before we all discover what a mistake it was to elect him, I hope he doen't destroy all this is good and decent about America. Only time will tell.

I hope you all have a happy and spiritual Easter.

a job I want

I'd like to work at Microsoft. I'd be in charge of those messages that come up and say "do you want to save the changes you made to mitten4kittens.doc?". I'd make sure that message always comes up when it's supposed to.

I'm baaaack!

No quite a year since I last wrote. Oh well, priorities. The tomatoes this summer were a joke! Huge healthy looking plants with lots of green tomatoes! No red ones! Dang!
I work at Boeing and the machinists are on strike. I hope they don't bankrupt the company.

phrases I'm tired of hearing

"and that's a good thing!"
"at the end of the day....."
"bottom line..."
"under new management"

Scotch tape

My sister told me about a woman she knows, who has little kids. She buys scotch tape when it's on sale and then when she needs her kids to be occupied while she makes a phone call, she gives them a roll. Genius like this is why I admire moms so much!

Burgers and laughter

So my 11 year old daughter and I went to visit my special friend today. They watched TV while I napped. Wow that felt good. Then we went for burgers to Red Mill. If you are ever in Seattle and like burgers, go to Red Mill, you won't be sorry.
We had a good time talking eating and eating two! orders of onion rings, one was supposed to be fries, but a communication breakdown occurred.
My SF is so great with my kids, one of her many good points. We then walked around Fremont and then home again.
It's late and no Seinfeld on Saturday nights, so bed and a book?
Church tomorrow!
God Bless you.

Saturday morning

I love Saturday mornings. The kids sleep in, and the house is quiet. A cool clear day here in Des Moines, Washington. The last of my tomatoes are ripening, and I'm getting ready to plant garlic. Tomatoes and garlic, they grow at opposite ends of the calendar!
My 13 year old son got a cell phone, and broke the screen in 3 days. I'm impressed he didn't lose it first!
God has seen fit to give me one more day on this earth, and I'd better make something of it!

I saw a happy man today

I was a the tire store (the excitement never ends here) getting my tires rotated. I was watching the guys work on my car. I like to make sure they actually do something. Up drives a young shirt-less guy in a topless CJ-5 (an old Wrangler for you youngsters). Sweet Home Alabama blaring from the audio system. He pulled up, parked, put on a shirt and went inside. He came out with a salesman, talked about tires for a minute or two, and then took off his shirt, buckled in and took off like a shot, same song blaring. "There goes a happy man", I thought.

She finally blew

Mt St. Helens finally blew! I love the thought of it. It makes the everyday problems fade away. Blow so more!

To sick to go to school

So my 11 year old daughter is too sick to go to school. She does have a cold, but I think she can go. Do I force the issue? I think the real reason is that she is ashamed of the bridge we made for her class project. I think it is great, but some of the other kids are better! I am home with her, and I love the time together, but I have to think of her future. O well, that is my first blog. They can only get better from here.
